Heath Ledger shouldn't win an award for this movie. As much as you guys will hate me saying it, it's only a Batman movie. He has played the Joker AMAZINGLY, and should get SOMETHING for it, but not an Oscar. Batman movies don't win Oscars.
That aside, such a good movie D: Shame about Two-Face dying, but he was always a boring character to me...

Pretty much what I said in IRC. He deserves it for the role, but it's Batman. People can scream all they want that genre doesn't matter, but they are only kidding themselves.

The "batman voice" came out pretty stupid, but rest of the movie was great.

The Batman costume sucked, but the Robin costume was awesome. Very modern and not complete homo erotic.

Well I have to say, this batman movie series is basing its entire idea on his loneliness. If they start adding a sidekick, that would defeat the point of having a lonely painful life dedicated to justice. The film where bat girl was added (don't remember which one i just remember it was with Ivy and freeze) was way to happy to be batman's life. Why not put in Bat Woman, then put in Ace the Bat dog, oh then throw in Bat Mite, while you are at it throw in a nice house white picket fence. It goes to a point where they become batman's "happy family", which is just NO. So i would say no more sidekicks.
I really rather see Batman grow evil and have to battle his inner demons, which would be a great ending to the trilogy (hoping it is a trilogy). So... NO Robin, NO Batgirl, and NO Batwoman. Bruce Wayne needs to be alone...

*SPOILER*
Joker: *shoves pencil into table* "Want to see a magic trick?" *security guy for the mobster comes* SMACK!
I wonder if the pencil was in his eye ^_^
I lol'd when the Joker can out of the hospital and was trying to set off the last explosives!
Heath Ledger played the part of the Joker very well. I loved the movie!

This movie was definitely worth the wait. Heath's portrayal of The Joker was spot on and very, very terrifying. The shifting moods, from comedic to serious to absolutely psychotic was awesome. I curious as to who will be the villain(s) in the next Batman. If it is the Riddler, no spandex/leotard outfit please.... LOL

"I just want my phone call..." --- best line in the movie
But anyway, I really hope the riddler is in the next one. That would be so cool and he was one of the best villians IMO. I just hope Mr. Freeze isn't in any of them, I hated him

idk, the part where the joker teamed up with the riddler and killed the batman kinda disappointed me, i like when movies at least stick to the basic plot of the book, and not kill the main protagonist 10 minutes into the movie and then record two hours of the joker laughing meniacly in front of the camera

Robin is too early.........the Dark Knight takes place 1 year after Batman begins, Robin would have to be part 5, if they go that far?

The movie was just wow. Ledger did a superb job playing as the Joker. I wish he wasn't so messed up, so he could do the 3rd one.
I have 3 words.
Winter Fight. Firefly.
If you don't know who Firefly is look him up.

If by messed up you mean dead?
The movie was BAMF. So amazing. Heath Ledger was brilliant.
Mafia Guy: You really think you can come in here and rob us all and get away with it?
Joker: Yes?
The pencil trick, the hospital bomb, and the "I just want my phone call" It was so brilliant.
And Apoc, wasn't the riddler's name "Enigma" or somthing? Edward Nigma. It's very clever though, the Mr. Reese. That's cool.
But the riddler didn't know who the Bat was.
I WANT THE PENGUIN.

A few things to mention:
1. No Robin or Batgirl... please.
2. One thing I like about Christan Bale as Batman is he kind of looks the closest to Micheal Keaton with the mask on.
3. I'm hoping for Riddler and Catgirl in the next one.
4. As much as people are raving about this Joker, I think the Jack Nichelson or Mark Hamilton (cartoon series) ones were better. Either Ledger or Nolan choose the wrong kind of insane for the Joker for this one. There were a few scenes he kind of got it, but for the most part it was all wrong.
5. Is the spoiler below... I figure I'm probably the only person here who didn't see it opening weekend, but I'll be safe anyways.
*****Spoiler Begins*****
Honestly, don't look if you haven't seen the movie, you don't want to see this.
Last warning, if you ruin it for yourself don't blame me.
At that one point where Batman had to choose who to rescue does anyone else think he knew what was going to happen. I think he did, but made that choice anyways.
*****Spoiler Ends*****
Just.
Reserving.
Some.
Excess.
Space.
At.
The.
Bottom.
(So there are no accidents, in other words don't look up any further)

the riddler conspiracy....ign's take on the riddler in nolans world was a guy who was hired to find the true identity of batman while setting him up along the way. well did erryone catch mr. coleman reese in tdk. his whole motive in the movie was to bring the identity of batman into the light, and he felt like he had been burned in the process....oh yea his name was coleman reese, or mr. reese....sounds alot like mysteries to me....dun dun dun dun.
and yea batmans voice was still congested as hell, that was the only bad thing to both of the movies imo

You are comparing apples and oranges. Ledgers' performance was sadistic and violent funny like in the scream movies(you feel uncomfortable laughing because it is just sick but can't help yoursself) while Nichilson's performance is more wacky, carzy ha ha funny. Ledger's performance was more of the dark joker while Nichelson's was meant to be the wierd joker. Even in the comics there are two different kinds of joker wacky or dark, even before the trailers came out i was thinking a dark version of the joker would suit the film more rather than Nichelson's wacky version, which it did, you could imagine Tim Burton's joker in the nolan films, it would suck. Tim burton's and Nolan's film are too different to compare. You could prefer one or the other but you cant compare.
On the other hand, as great or as amazing as Ledger's performance was i only think people are going 'Oscar for Heath' because he is dead. It was the the greatest performance in his career but movies of the genre and style(the film has many differnet stlyes but I am talking about the concept of goodies and baddies) never get oscar's only few sci-fi, fantasy and comic book movies win oscars-alien/aliens, LoTR(most overrated trilogy in the world) and I can't even recall a comic-book movie winning an oscar.
One thing I am crap at is on picking up on is 'dialogue' everyone say the movies dialogue was a bit crap well as i said i not very good at picking things out like so I am just going to leave it, but when I think back on it it was quite short and at times slighty obvious(not very thinky).
Though two-face wasn't like venom in spiderman 3, just tossing in a villian for the sake of it, but I do feel as if they could of done much more with the character than just killing him off, also I can't quite comprehend why he is so pissed off, it wasn't batmans or gordan's fault Rachel died and don't say because his face got messed up aswell, because they gave him an oppurtunity to fix that, they could of done a little bit more with the character but it wasn't utter bullshit and shuch a dissapointment like venom. I think he was just part of the movie's themes anyone could be driven to insanity and it's maninly those who are considered as 'white knights' as the movie calls it or the people who are less suspectable to madness and whom are thought of as great as the are most likely to be driven to insanity, or something like that.
One of the things that annoys me about the film was the fact that they superpowerup the Joker like when he get as knife from no where and escapes from prinson like it was a bit of piss, I donno it seems to simple and every thing he does seems so easy for him with no struggle.
Overall 9/10

You mean when he "went" for Rachel? The Joker switched locations, thus Batman ending up at Dent's location.

I do hope that the only reason you mentioned this movie is for the costume purposes only and not because you liked the movie...
Batman and Robin was horrible....
Horrible...horrible acting and a bad storyline..
